Baseball Recap: Mckinley's Losing Streak Snapped at Three Games

McKinley's game last Thursday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They came out on top against the McDonald Blue Devils by a score of 8-3. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Red Dragons as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Connor Duncan tossed a big game, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off five hits.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on AJ Yost, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 4-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in doubles (two). Brady Court was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.

McKinley was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .444. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

McKinley's record is now 2-3. As for McDonald, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. McKinley will venture away from home to challenge South Range at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for McDonald, they will head out to square off against Heartland Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
