The Lakeside Lutheran Warriors lost against the Lake Mills L-Cats back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Lakeside Lutheran opened the new year with a less-than-successful 56-45 loss to Lake Mills. Lakeside Lutheran has not had much luck with Lake Mills recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Lakeside Lutheran saw an underclassman step up: Paige Murphy scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Murphy scored a full 53.3% of Lakeside Lutheran's points, the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Farah Stuebs, who scored eight points along with three steals.
Lakeside Lutheran's loss was their fourth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 7-6. As for Lake Mills, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-6 record this season.
Lakeside Lutheran will head out on the road to face off against DeForest at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lake Mills, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Sauk Prairie at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Sauk Prairie will be looking to extend their current eight-game winning streak.
