Baseball Recap: Show Low Has No Trouble Against Blue Ridge

Show Low lost to Blue Ridge back in March, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Yellow Jackets with a sharp 13-7 win. The result was nothing new for the Cougars, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Karter Alexander was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run but no hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with one triple and two RBI.

In other batting news, Jonathan Mackenzie was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Easton Hatch, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Show Low was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are a perfect 7-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Show Low's record is now 14-8. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 13-5.
