There's no place like home for the Otay Ranch Mustangs, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They secured a 52-46 W over Mater Dei Catholic on Wednesday. The win was all the more spectacular given Otay Ranch's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while Mater Dei Catholic is ranked 205th).
It was another big night for Adam Delacruz, who scored 26 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Fabian Resler, who scored three points along with eight assists and three steals.
Despite the loss, Mater Dei Catholic still got an impressive performance from Maseyo Elliott, who scored 16 points along with two steals. Elliott's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for four games straight. Sebastian Wiles was another key contributor, scoring ten points.
Otay Ranch pushed their record up to 8-16 with that win, which was their third straight at home. As for Mater Dei Catholic, their loss dropped their record down to 12-11.
Otay Ranch will be playing at home against Montgomery at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Montgomery has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 541 points over their last seven matches. As for Mater Dei Catholic, they will head out on the road to face off against Bonita Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
