Basketball Recap: Elgin Now 3-1 over Last Four Games

If Triad wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Elgin, they should've done a better job of containing Maycee Muselin. The Elgin Comets took their match on Monday with ease, bagging a 61-11 victory over the Triad Cardinals thanks in part to Muselin, who went 11 for 19 on her way to 24 points and six steals. Her evening made it six games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Delainy Boles, who posted seven points. What's more, she also racked up two steals, the most she's had since back in January.

Triad's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Mia Lemay, who put up five points and ten rebounds. Lemay is crushing it when it comes to boards: she's pulled down at least ten every time she's taken the court this season.

Elgin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 32 points. As for Triad, their loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-4.

Elgin will host Ridgedale at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Elgin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.2 points per game this season. As for Triad, they will head out on the road to take on West Jefferson at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
