Sheldon waltzed into their matchup on Wednesday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Franklin Wildcats 90-52. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 55-19.
Sheldon found their leader in sophomore Baron Sabir, who went 5 of 9 en route to 23 points. Sabir is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 40% in the last six games he's played. Sebastian James was another key player, putting up 11 points in addition to seven boards and five blocks.
Franklin's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jacob Juarros, who posted eight points and three steals. What's more, Juarros also posted a 50% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Preston Jefferson, who put up ten points.
Sheldon pushed their record up to 16-9 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.8 points over those games. As for Franklin, their loss dropped their record down to 20-5.
Coincidentally, Sheldon and Franklin will both be playing Elk Grove the next time they take the court. Franklin will head out to face Elk Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Sheldon will host them at 7:30 p.m. on February 12th.
