If the Almont Raiders were expecting to get some payback for the 56-45 defeat against the Richmond Blue Devils when they previously met last month, then they were left disappointed. Almont was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Friday as they fell 45-39 to Richmond.
The loss dropped the Raiders' record to 10-7. Richmond's win brought them up to 14-4.
The Raiders will take on Dryden on Tuesday. It might come down to the wire as the MaxPreps rankings project a close game. The Blue Devils are staying on the road next week to face off against Algonac. Each game has meant fewer and fewer points for Richmond in their past four games, so Algonac might be catching them at a good time.
