St. Augustine Catholic's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Megan Callahan, who scored 17 points along with three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Carolina Georgelous, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, The Gregory School saw an underclassman step up: Zena Smith dropped a double-double on 18 points and ten rebounds. Rose Pisetsky was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with six rebounds.
St. Augustine Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-5 record this season. As for The Gregory School, they bumped their record down to 4-11 with that loss, which was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. Augustine Catholic will take on Chandler Prep at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Gregory School won't have much time to rest: their next match is against San Simon at 2:30 p.m. on January 13th. San Simon comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last five games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
