The Firth Cougars pushed their score all the way to 60 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 70-60 to South Fremont. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Tuesday (55), Firth still had to take the loss.
Firth's lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Daytona Folkman, who scored 14 points. The match was Folkman's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Rachel Jacobsen, who scored 13 points.
Firth now has a losing record at 2-3. As for South Fremont, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Firth will challenge Marsh Valley at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday. Marsh Valley comes in still looking for their first win of the season. As for South Fremont, they will head out on the road to face off against Filer at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
