Softball Recap: Joaquin Extends Winning Streak to Eight

Joaquin waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chireno Owls a 13-0 shutout. Considering the Rams have won 11 games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Joaquin's victory was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Autumn Webb, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Ke'Maria Wilson was another, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

Joaquin was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Joaquin's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 13-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.7 runs over those games. As for Chireno, they have been struggling recently as they've lost five of their last six contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season.

Joaquin will square off against Garrison at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Chireno, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Timpson at 5:30 p.m.
