Ribault has been on the road for three straight, but on Friday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Bishop Kenny Crusaders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the pair will really light up the scoreboard.
Last Tuesday, Ribault was fully in charge, breezing past Sandalwood 58-14 on the road. The victory was just what Ribault needed coming off of a 61-33 loss in their prior matchup.
Ribault's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Nyeemah Dixon, who scored 12 points along with 5 steals, and Destiny Donaldson, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyaishia Grace, who scored 6 points.
Meanwhile, Bishop Kenny had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 61-34 victory over Episcopal School of Jacksonville. Given Bishop Kenny's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while Episcopal School of Jacksonville is ranked 203rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Bishop Kenny had a senior duo take command as Clare Coyle scored 8 points and Riley Talbert scored 11 points. The game was Talbert's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Kathleen Crawley was another key contributor, scoring 8 points.
The losses dropped Ribault to 3-1 and Sandalwood to 1-5.
Ribault took a serious blow against Bishop Kenny in their previous meeting back in February, falling 70-43. Thankfully for Ribault, Sophia Rueppell (who scored 22 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
