Softball Recap: Edison Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Edison extended their winning streak to three on Tuesday, bumping them up to 3-0. They were the clear victors by a 22-10 margin over the Lewis Lancers. That's more bragging rights for the Eagles, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Caitlyn Lankford made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2025.

In other batting news, Edison let Marley Jackson and Caitlin Brickley run wild. Jackson went 2-for-3 with six RBI, two runs, and one triple, while Brickley got on base in four of her five plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those six RBI gave Jackson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Katie Gallegos, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple and two RBI.

Edison hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lewis struck out 12 times.

As for Lewis, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5. Even though they lost, their still made a splash at the plate and bumped their average scoring up to 6.2 runs per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

On Lewis' side, they saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Baylee Stevens, who got on base in all four of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. Tiffany Stallworth also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Coincidentally, Edison and Lewis will both be playing Justice the next time they take the field. The Eagles will head out to face the Wolves at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Lancers will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
