After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against Horizon Honors, Santa Cruz Valley was happy to have turned things around  on Monday. They walked away with  a   3-1  victory over the Apache Junction Prospectors. The  win was a breath of fresh air for the Dust Devils as it put an end to their four-match losing streak.
 Layla Brown paced Santa Cruz Valley's offense, picking up ten kills. Brown got some help from  Mionette Banda and her 33 assists.  Dominique Masters controlled things from the service line, finishing with six aces.
Santa Cruz Valley picked up their first home  victory, bumping their record up to 4-9. As for Apache Junction, they have  traveled a rocky road recently, having  lost eight of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record  this season.
 Santa Cruz Valley will head out to  challenge Heritage Academy  at 6:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Apache Junction, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Coolidge  at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday.
