After only two runs in their last match, Bellmont made sure to put some runs up on the board against Delta on Friday. The Braves put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 14-7 win. Considering the Braves have won four games by more than six runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Taylor Bauer made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned (and four unearned) runs off 12 hits. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in strikeouts (five). She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Bellmont got a massive performance out of Finnley Godsey, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs Godsey has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Bella Ashley, who went 3-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and one stolen base.
Bellmont's victory bumped their record up to 5-3. As for Delta, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-9.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bellmont will host Columbia City at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. This will be the Braves' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Delta, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Mt. Vernon at 6:00 p.m.
