The Silver Creek Raptors won the last time they faced the Summit Tigers, and things went their way on Friday too. Silver Creek rang in the new year with a 44-34 win over Summit. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Silver Creek has scored all year.
Leading Silver Creek to victory were Ashoka Surkhang and Gabe Selby. Surkhang scored 13 points along with eight rebounds, while Selby scored nine points along with ten rebounds. Those ten rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. The team also got some help courtesy of Zander Storz, who scored six points along with seven rebounds.
Silver Creek pushed their record up to 8-1 with that win, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points per game. As for Summit, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-3.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Silver Creek will take on Holy Family at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Holy Family is ranked 39th, while Silver Creek is ranked 23rd). As for Summit, they will be playing at home against Basalt at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
