South Central took a eight-run defeat the last time they faced off against Mitchell, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Rebels had just enough and edged out the Bluejackets 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted since April 25, 2024.

Delaney Pennington was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two RBI, and one double. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Whitney Hubert was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

South Central has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Mitchell, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 4-10.

Looking ahead, South Central will venture away from home to take on Cannelton at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Mitchell, they will host West Washington at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
