The Camden Catholic Fighting Irish's's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They and Mastery were almost perfectly matched up, but Camden Catholic suffered an agonizing 30-29 loss.
Mastery's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Quamir Hicks led the charge by rushing for 90 yards and a touchdown. Mastery also got help from Jaiden Steele who showed off his sure hands for 81 receiving yards.
Camden Catholic has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-6 record this season. As for Mastery, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.
Camden Catholic will have plenty of time to ponder what went wrong as they've got a bye scheduled next week. After, they'll take on Paul VI at 6:00 p.m. on November 23rd. Paul VI is coming into the game hot, having won their last seven games. Mastery does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
