The Hadley Luzerne Eagles's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 50-40 to Lake George. While losing is never fun, Hadley Luzerne can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 694th, while the Lakers are ranked 293rd).
Lake George got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Sam Burns out in front who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Angelo Bergman, who scored 18 points along with five steals.
Hadley Luzerne dropped their record down to 3-13 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points per game. As for Lake George, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hadley Luzerne will take on the Flying Forts at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake George's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Generals at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd. Salem comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
