Baseball Recap: Pleasanton Wins Going Away Against Wharton

Pleasanton had already won two in a row and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They came out on top against the Wharton Tigers by a score of 7-4. That looming 7-4 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Eagles yet this season.

Arnold Tijerina looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off five hits. That's the fewest earned runs he has allowed since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Jayden Arrendondo was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. What's more, he posted two doubles, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Braysen Stevens, who scored two runs while going 2-for-2.

Pleasanton was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .458. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.

Pleasanton's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Wharton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4.

Pleasanton wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, an 11-4 win against Columbia on the 28th. As for Wharton, they have also already played their next game, a 3-2 loss against Palacios on the 27th.
