After a string of four wins, the Minor Tigers's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. The match between Minor and Jasper wasn't particularly close, with Minor falling 67-48. While losing is never fun, Minor can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 106th, while Jasper is ranked 33rd).
Despite the defeat, Minor saw an underclassman step up: Carmelo Burroughs scored 18 points along with 8 rebounds. Burroughs scored a full 37.5% of Minor's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Minor's defeat was their third straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 8-2. As for Jasper, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-2.
Minor will head out on the road to face off against Woodlawn at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Jasper, they will play host again and welcome Hayden, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
