Shipley's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 58-57 to Cross Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, Shipley can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 429th in Pennsylvania, while Cross Christian Academy is ranked 16th in Delaware).
Several Shipley players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Henry Rassmussen, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Matt Lange was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds and three steals.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cross Christian Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Xavier Brewington, who scored 22 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brewington has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontarius Jones, who scored 19 points.
Shipley's loss was their sixth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Cross Christian Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Cross Christian Academy on the road again on Monday and play against Tri-State Christian at 5:00 p.m. on January 29th.
