The Tahoma Bears came tearing into Thursday's game with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past Decatur with points to spare, taking the game 56-38. Given Tahoma's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while Decatur is ranked 115th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Tahoma found their leader in underclassman Adalynn Busch, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. Busch continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Kate Wooten was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with five rebounds.
Decatur's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jeralynn Sevaaetasi, who scored 15 points, and Teniah Armstead who scored ten points.
Tahoma pushed their record up to 14-2 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.1 points per game. As for Decatur, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-4.
Coincidentally, Tahoma and Decatur will both be playing Kennedy Catholic the next time they take the court. Decatur will head out to face Kennedy Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Tahoma will host them at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
