The Sheldon Panthers posted their biggest victory since December 7, 2023 on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Bronaugh with a sharp 61-40 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Sheldon has posted against Bronaugh since December 18, 2018.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sheldon to victory, but perhaps none more so than Riley Chapman, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 26 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Chapman has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aiden Bogart, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 15 rebounds.
Bronaugh lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Strauss Banes, who scored 19 points. That was a full 47.5% of Bronaugh's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Tucker Duncan was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six assists and three steals.
Sheldon has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-6 record this season. As for Bronaugh, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-9.
Sheldon will head out on the road to take on Miami at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Miami is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'. As for Bronaugh, they will be playing at home against Kingsville at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
