Andrews put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against the IC Imagine Kingfishers as they made off with a 12-2 victory. While the Wildcats didn't have the best season last year (they finished 4-11), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Kelby Waldroup made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over five innings pitched. Those ten strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Waldroup is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.
In other batting news, Andrews got a massive performance out of Aiden Garrett, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. Drew Dartez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.
Andrews was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher every time they've taken the field this season.
Andrews' record now sits at 6-0. As for IC Imagine, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.
Looking ahead, Andrews will look to defend their home field on Tuesday against Rosman at 4:30 p.m. As for IC Imagine, they will welcome Lake Lure Classical Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
