It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Franklin had no problem doing just that on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the Indians who were credited with the win. The Franklin Indians got it done in the shootout by posting five goals to the Howard Lions' four. Given Franklin's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland soccer rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Howard are ranked 130th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Looking ahead, Franklin will square off against Catonsville on Tuesday. Howard does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
