Eastside has enjoyed the comforts of home their last five games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will challenge the Palatka Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Eastside walked away with it. They came out on top against the Bulldogs by a score of 63-55 on Tuesday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastside to victory, but perhaps none more so than Davion Pugh, who scored 18 points. Another player making a difference was Jarrel Comer, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Baker County scored an imposing 58 points on Thursday, Palatka still came out on top. Palatka sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 61-58 win over Baker County. The victory was familiar territory for Palatka who now have three in a row.
Eastside's victory bumped their record up to 7-16. As for Palatka, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 21-4 record this season.
Eastside and Palatka were neck-and-neck when the teams last played back in February of 2019, but Eastside came up empty-handed after a 61-60 loss. Can Eastside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
