The Raleigh Charter Phoenix suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were outmatched by NCSSM: Durham on the road and fell 59-23. Raleigh Charter has struggled against NCSSM: Durham recently, as their matchup on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
NCSSM: Durham's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Maren Donlon, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Donlon has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Marilyn Martin, who scored eight points along with nine steals.
Raleigh Charter dropped their record down to 4-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road. As for NCSSM: Durham, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Franklin Academy the next time they take the court. Raleigh Charter will host Franklin Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while NCSSM: Durham will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
