The Captain Shreve Gators have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 22 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Bossier with a sharp 56-33 victory on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but Captain Shreve sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Captain Shreve to victory, but perhaps none more so than Marcus Lofton, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Those 18 points set a new season-high mark for him. Jyrin Sowell was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
Captain Shreve pushed their record up to 8-1 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.8 points per game. As for Bossier, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Captain Shreve will be home for the holidays to greet Pineville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Pineville knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully Captain Shreve likes a good challenge. Bossier will be home for the holidays to greet Airline at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Airline is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
