Basketball Recap: Cardinal Gibbons Victorious

North Raleigh Christian Academy came into Tuesday's match looking for another win against Cardinal Gibbons, but Cash McSweeney wouldn't allow it. The Cardinal Gibbons Crusaders managed a 52-47 victory over the North Raleigh Christian Academy Knights on Tuesday thanks in part to McSweeney, who almost dropped a double-double on 18 points and nine boards. The contest was his third in a row with at least ten points.

Despite the loss, North Raleigh Christian Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Brennen Jefferson dropped a double-double on 23 points and 11 boards. Those 11 rebounds gave Jefferson a new career-high. Cooper Herakovich was another key player, putting up seven points along with eight rebounds and three steals.

Cardinal Gibbons now has a winning record of 4-3. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-6.

Cardinal Gibbons didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 78-69 win against White Oak on the 14th. As for North Raleigh Christian Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 61-44 victory against Trinity of Durham and Chapel Hill on the 12th.
