Volleyball Recap: Salem Sayers Baptist Academy Triumphs

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Town East Christian, Salem Sayers Baptist Academy was happy to have turned things around on Friday. Everything went their way against the Legacy Christian Academy Rams as they made off with a 3-0 victory. For Salem Sayers Baptist Academy, this counts as revenge for the 3-1 win Legacy Christian Academy walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2016.

The 3-0 score doesn't really reflect how close the match was: every set was decided by three points or less. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-23, 26-24, 25-23.

Lexi Crow paced Salem Sayers Baptist Academy's offense, picking up 11 kills. Crow got some help from Anslee Shaw and her 17 assists. Finally, Crow was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high four blocks.

Salem Sayers Baptist Academy's first victory this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Legacy Christian Academy, their defeat was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-5.

Coming up, Salem Sayers Baptist Academy will venture away from home to face off against Winston at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Legacy Christian Academy, they will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Lifegate Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Rams surely won't give up without a fight.
