It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but the Eastside Eagles had no problem doing just that on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 38-14 margin over Chapel Hill. The result was nothing new for Eastside, who have now won six matchups by 24 points or more so far this season.
Eastside's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Michael Kenon, who picked up 183 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Payton Shaw was another key contributor, throwing for 265 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes.
Eastside has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season. As for Chapel Hill, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-3.
Eastside will take on Cartersville at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cartersville is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. Chapel Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
