The Dunedin Falcons will be playing at home against the Fivay Falcons at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Dunedin is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Dunedin suffered their biggest loss since December 13, 2023 on Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 76-52 walloping at the hands of Jefferson.
Dunedin's loss came about despite a quality game from Aidan Laird, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Laird scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Malachi Johnson, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Fivay put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Thursday. Everything went their way against River Ridge as Fivay made off with a 66-41 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Fivay has posted against River Ridge since January 24, 2020.
Fivay found their leader in underclassman Antwan Brown, who scored 26 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Brown also posted two blocks for the first time this season. Jamarian Miller was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with six steals.
Dunedin's loss was their 18th straight at home, which dropped their record down to 0-16. As for Fivay, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-10 record this season.
Dunedin came up short against Fivay in their previous matchup back in January of 2015, falling 91-83. Thankfully for Dunedin, Jerome Merrit (who scored 39 points along with nine rebounds and six assists) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
