The Walnut Wildcats pushed their score all the way to 70 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Belmont 74-70. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (58), Walnut still had to take the loss.
It was another big night for Ty Ramsey, who scored 36 points for Belmont. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ramsey has scored at least 25% of Belmont's points. Khalil Luster was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds.
Walnut's defeat dropped their record down to 9-9. As for Belmont, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 13-5.
Walnut will be playing at home against Pine Grove at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pine Grove is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Belmont, they will challenge Alcorn Central at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Alcorn Central is coming into the matchup on a three-game losing streak.
