This season hasn't been kind to the Atlantic City Vikings, who are still winless after their sixth contest. They had to suffer through a rough 77-48 loss at the hands of Middle Township. Atlantic City was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-14.
Atlantic City's loss on Monday came despite strong showings from Taison Parker and Bridget Roach. Parker scored 20 points along with two steals, while Roach scored 14 points along with six rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Parker scored 15 or more points. Julia Marigliano was another key contributor, scoring four points along with four steals.
Middle Township got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Mckenzie Palek out in front who scored eight points along with seven steals and six assists. Palek also posted two blocks for the first time this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabelle Toland, who scored 12 points along with two blocks.
Atlantic City bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Middle Township, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-3 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Atlantic City's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Mainland Regional at 5:30 p.m. on January 10th. Mainland Regional is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for Middle Township, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against Absegami at 4:00 p.m.
