The Carrollton Warriors will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Meadowbrook Colts at 6:45 p.m. Carrollton is looking to tack on another W to their seven-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Carrollton has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won three matchups by 22 points or more this season. They blew past Dalton 67-41. Given Carrollton's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 59th, while Dalton is ranked 523rd), the result on Saturday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Carrollton's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Brae Roudebush, who scored 19 points along with three steals, and Hillari Baker, who scored 22 points along with five assists. That's the first time this season that Roudebush scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Kylie Ujcich, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Meadowbrook had to endure a five-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They blew past Coshocton, posting a 59-13 victory at home. That looming 59-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Meadowbrook yet this season.
Carrollton's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Meadowbrook, their win bumped their record up to 2-5.
Carrollton took their victory against Meadowbrook in their previous matchup back in December of 2022 by a conclusive 71-47. The rematch might be a little tougher for Carrollton since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
