The De Anza Dons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their third straight loss. They took a 71-61 hit to the loss column at the hands of Alhambra. De Anza has not had much luck with Alhambra recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Several Dons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Jacari Madison, who scored 19 points. Ahmari Otis was another key contributor, scoring 12 points.
Samuel Gillaspy was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-9 from long range and dropping a double-double on 20 points and 11 rebounds for Alhambra. The game was Gillaspy's seventh in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cooper Largent, who scored 17 points.
De Anza now has a losing record at 3-4. As for Alhambra, their victory bumped their record up to an identical 3-4.
De Anza will head out on the road to face off against Saint Mary's at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Alhambra, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Northgate at 7:30 p.m. Northgate presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Alhambra in California (Northgate is ranked 174th, while Alhambra is ranked 499th).
