Baseball Recap: Bremen's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Bremen dropped their record down to 8-3 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They lost 21-11 to the South Bend Adams Eagles. If the Lions were looking for revenge after losing 7-0 to the Eagles when the teams met back in May of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

JJ Cencelewski was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single walk, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in May of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs and one RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted three or more hits the last three times he's played.

In other batting news, Silas Laidig was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Zack Buszkiewicz, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two RBI and one run.

South Bend Adams' first win this season bumped their record up to 1-12. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

On South Bend Adams' side, they got a massive performance out of AIDAN MICINSKI, who got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. That's the most runs MICINSKI has posted since back in April of 2024. KANIEN SMITH was another key player, going 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bremen will welcome Elkhart Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Lions are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for South Bend Adams, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Penn at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Kingsmen will roll in looking for their 14th straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
