Belleville West hadn't done well against Collinsville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Belleville West Maroons walked away with a 62-52 victory over the Collinsville Kahoks. The win was familiar territory for the Maroons who have now won four matches in a row.

Collinsville's loss came despite strong showings from Jace Wilkinson and Donovan Coates. Wilkinson went 7 for 17 on his way to 17 points, while Coates went 7 of 16 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Wilkinson a new career-high in steals (two). Stanley Carnahan was another key player, putting up four points and eight rebounds.

Belleville West's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Collinsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Belleville West will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Granite City at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Collinsville, they will take on East St. Louis at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
