West Charlotte had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They put the hurt on the Dudley Panthers with a sharp 39-13 victory on Friday. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by 26 points or more this season.
Leading West Charlotte to victory were Jamouri Nichols and Emory McClain JR. Nichols threw for 224 yards and two touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes, while McClain JR rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries. The dominant performance also gave Nichols a new career-high in passer rating (162).
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to West Charlotte's defense and their 11 sacks. Kaden Smith led the group effort, picking up three of those sacks all by himself. He has been hot recently, having also posted six or more total tackles the last three times he's played. West Charlotte got some further help from Michael Griffin Jr.: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made eight total tackles (3.0 for loss).
