Winnebago's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lavelle Smith, who scored 13 points. Caden Brownrigg was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with five assists.
Hartington-Newcastle found their leader in underclassman Brayden Lammers, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten rebounds. That's the first time this season that Lammers scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dayton Sudbeck, who scored ten points along with seven rebounds.
Winnebago has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-9 record this season. As for Hartington-Newcastle, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-8.
