The Camelback Spartans's game last Thursday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They walked away with a 56-47 win over Skyline. Given Camelback's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 135th, while Skyline is ranked 273rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Camelback's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Kemahn Knight, who scored 20 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Aken Logan, who scored 18 points along with five assists.
Camelback pushed their record up to 7-3 with that victory, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Skyline, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-8 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Camelback won't have much time to rest: their next game is against O'Connor at 7:00 p.m. on December 14th. O'Connor has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 640 points over their last nine matches. Skyline will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Mountain View at 7:00 p.m. on January 8, 2024.
