While the Ramsey Rams couldn't quite beat the River Dell Golden Hawks on Tuesday, the two-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 28-point loss they were dealt last Sunday. Ramsey fell just short of River Dell by a score of 49-47. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Ramsey came into the match with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 45th, while River Dell is ranked 160th).
River Dell got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Aditya Pandya out in front who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. That's the first time this season that Pandya scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Sean Golden, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds.
Ramsey has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-4 record this season. As for River Dell, the win got them back to even at 7-7.
Ramsey will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Pascack Hills at 4:15 p.m. As for River Dell, they will head out on the road to square off against Westwood at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Westwood will be looking to keep their three-game home win streak alive.
