Softball Recap: Marple Newtown Wins Going Away Against Penncrest

Marple Newtown got themselves on the board against Penncrest on Monday, but Penncrest never followed suit. They blew past the Lions 11-0. Considering the Fightin' Tigers have won six contests by more than ten runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ally Snyder tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Kirsten Adams, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Grace Corner was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Marple Newtown's win bumped their record up to 12-2. As for Penncrest, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7-1 record this season.
