Perhaps the best among those players was Landon Thompson, who shot 60% from the field to rack up 16 points and seven boards. The contest was Thompson's third in a row with at least 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Cade Logston, who posted eight points and seven assists.
Even though they lost, New Castle was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Muncie Central found their leader in freshman Carlos Echols, who went 6-for-9 on his way to 16 points and five assists. Those 16 points set a new season-high mark for Echols. Another player making a difference was Shemar Taylor, who shot 56% from the field en route to 13 points.
New Castle's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for Muncie Central, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-15.
