4A Conference 8 recap November 19, 2013
High Point Central added to the longest winning streak in 4A Conference 8 this week by beating Hopewell, 38-21. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Bison.
East Forsyth took down Grimsley 55-22 last week, the largest margin of any game. Karson Sharpe threw for 214 yards and 3 touchdowns during the win.
Jameel Mack was a passing and rushing force as High Point Central defeated the Titans. He completed 12 passes for 261 yards and 2 touchdowns and also ran for 92 yards. Mack's key target this week was Jawan Foggie, who caught 4 passes for 142 yards.
Sharpe put up the best numbers through the air as the Eagles bested the Whirlies. Sharpe's favorite target this week was Brian Gentry, who caught 3 passes for 116 yards.
Wayne Jones' team's Mack and Foggie have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-0 quarterback Mack has thrown for 2,628 yards this season, while Foggie has 55 catches for 897 yards. Anthony Harding from Northwest Guilford leads the league in rushing with 1,343 yards.
Christian Dix of the the Vikings is only 8 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. Dix has rushed for 992 yards on 158 carries so far this year.
East Forsyth led the league in scoring this week by notching 55 points on Grimsley. Sharpe in the win.
