Shafter's three-game losing streak came to an end on Wednesday. They came out on top against Taft by a score of 3-1. That's another feather in the cap for Shafter, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
They were led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Genaro Lopez and
Edwin Gonzalez, who scored all three of Shafter's goals. The pair have combined for a total of three so far this season.
Shafter's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-9-5. As for Taft, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-10-6 record this season.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing McFarland the next time they take the pitch. Shafter will head out to face McFarland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Taft will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
