Wrangell is 10-0 against Petersburg since February of 2022, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Both teams will face off on January 26th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Wrangell is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Wrangell was the victim of a rough 54-34 defeat at the hands of Metlakatla. Wrangell has not had much luck with Metlakatla recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Wrangell's defeat came about despite a quality game from Aubrey Wynne, who scored nine points. Alana Harrison was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Petersburg, who are still winless after their seventh game. They took a 23-16 hit to the loss column at the hands of Haines last Saturday.
Wrangell's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Petersburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-7.
Wrangell came out on top in a nail-biter against Petersburg when the teams last played on January 6th, sneaking past 40-37. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wrangell since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
