Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that Pittsfield blew the Hornets out of the water with a 71-36 final score. Given Pittsfield's advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while the Hornets are ranked 640th), the result on Friday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Camp Point Central's victory bumped their record up to 18-6. As for Pittsfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-7 record this season.
Camp Point Central strolled past the Saukees in their previous meeting back in January of 2023 by a score of 48-29. The rematch might be a little tougher for Camp Point Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
