Baseball Recap: Wolfe County Wins Going Away Against Prestonsburg

Wolfe County won the last time they faced Prestonsburg and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wolves were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Blackcats. Considering the Wolves have won seven contests by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Wolfe County got a massive performance out of Jayden Molands, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three doubles, and two runs. Those three doubles gave Molands a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kris Evans, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI.

Wolfe County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .613. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Prestonsburg only posted an OBP of .278.

Wolfe County's victory bumped their record up to 13-6. As for Prestonsburg, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-13.

Looking ahead, Wolfe County will venture away from home to face off against George Rogers Clark at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Prestonsburg, they will host John Battle at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Blackcats' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
