Lafayette is 10-0 against Chillicothe since February of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Lafayette Fighting Irish will be playing at home against the Chillicothe Hornets at 7:30 p.m. Lafayette will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive.
Last Tuesday, Lafayette ended up a good deal behind Benton and lost 65-49. While losing is never fun, Lafayette can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 250th, while Benton is ranked 38th).
Meanwhile, Chillicothe put the finishing touches on their seventh blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 57-37 margin over Savannah. The win was nothing new for Chillicothe as they're now sitting on three straight.
James Mathew continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 23 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks. He is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Jackson Trout was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with eight assists and five rebounds.
Lafayette's defeat dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Chillicothe, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season.
Everything came up roses for Lafayette against Chillicothe in their previous meeting back in March of 2023 as the squad secured a 70-41 win. Will Lafayette repeat their success, or does Chillicothe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
